    Printing from Solaris

    Dear All

i have problem while printing from Solaris 10 (Unix), The issue here, that it is unix system and in unix system you will have to run a scrip only form TAR file to configure the printer.
The machine is having PS installed already and some of the file got printed fine, but some other files which is having Tiff attachment is getting stock in the spooler and the machine keep blinking for a hours and nothing get printed...for example if i print a file from 76 pages the machine print 70 pages fine and then the machine stopped printing and printer led keep blinking forever.
The same file was printed on other products (Xerox, Develop, sharp, canon) and the file printed ok, but our machine just hanged in between.
I think the issue related to the PS command while printing from Solaris.

    pleaseeee help me out.

It will probable have to be done by the customer IT, as most routers are managed ny them

exactly the same, it would print some pages, and then just hang, I suppose the spooler couldn;t cope with the amount data, as UNIX spools far quicker than Windows systems

It's the spped at the router/switch side that needs adjusting also

You should be able to set the speed / duplex on the machine and it will only communicate with the network at 10Mbps/Half no matter what the switch is set to (unless it's set to force 100/Full, in which case it would drop the connection completely)

Also might want to update all of the machine firmware - there have been several know issues in the past having to do with PDL commands that windows is too stupid to take advantage of.

i have tried the same (soeed of the network to hulf dublex) but same issue.
i am thinking that the memory in MP8000SP (512 MB) is not reaaly supporting this type of printing, as each and every page is having attached Tiff or JPg, do your guys think if i will try MP8001SP which is having 1.5 GB as memory the machine could work?
