    Aficio 2075 SC817

    While reflashing a 2075 (due to several problems - flashing the firmware was one of the first things on my to-do list), the machine stalled while flashing the Engine. After waiting for a good while, I decided to bite the bullet and cycle the power. As I correctly guessed, the machine afterwards started giving me the SC817 0x00000005 code, telling me the ROM got corrupted.

    So far I found out two possible solutions: Getting a new controller PCB and ordering a Boot SD Card.

    Some questions:

    - Is the Boot SD Card a one-use card? Or can it be used in the future on similar situations?
    - Can I test the entire controller box on a 2060?
    - If not, someone knows off the top of their heads which are the different boards?
    - If someone knows of an efficient way of kicking myself in the ass, please let me know.

      for sc 817 the symptom is Monitor error, this is a file detection and electronic file signature check error when the boot loader attempts to read the self-diagnostic module, system kernel, or root system files from the os flash ROM, or the items on the SD card in the controller slot are false or corrupted. the possible cause is OS flash ROM dat defective, change the controller firmware; SD card data defective use another sd card.
      0x0000 0005 Root file system file read error (rootfs)
      Exemple: Data in the self-diagnostic module, system kernel, or root system files are corrupted or do not exist in OS flash ROM or on the SD card
      files in the self-diagnostic module, kernel,or root lile system on the SD card have been falsified or altered
      - before discarding the SD card, try to apgate the data on the card. if the error accur again, the card may be defective.
      - be sure to use an SD CARD THAT CONTAINS THE CORRECT ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE..

          Thanks, but I was looking for some info besides the one that comes in the SM.

              I've never had to use it, but it's supposed to be a tool, meaning it's reusable. Part number is B6456090

                  The boot SD is reusable. We have one that we've used a couple of times, due to impatient techs. There is one firmware (might be engine, I don't recall) that takes a long time to update (20-30 minutes), on this model. You just have to wait.

                      Probably what happened to me - Was updating the engine and I really thought it was taking too long, and since the machine was giving problems (shooting out the odd SC code - can't recall which one right now, but I now know for a fact that the HD is fried), I believed it was stalled.

                      Still nobody told me an efficient way of kicking myself in the ass.

                                  Thanks everyone. We've ordered the Boot SD Card and it successfuly recovered this machine.

                                  About the self-ass-kicking, I found out that if you walk backwards onto a shovel laid on the ground (like those old slapstick movies), it will work just fine. Here's a tip for all of you messing up things.
