MPC 7501 Fusing Unit Setting Error

    [Error Code] MPC 7501 Fusing Unit Setting Error

    Greeting's Had long day today workin on this beast (MPC7501),Replaced Almost All Parts and doin great after replacement,,at last replaced Fusing blet,thermistors PTR Section and when put the Fusing Unit back in machine it shows (Fusing Unit Setting Error). any fix,hints,clues will be highly appreciated, Thanks in Advance,

    No experience on this one, just going by what I've read:
    Check loose vertical connector on rear right side under fusing unit cover

      You need to have a good close look at the little loop link on the thermistor loom connector. You need to swap one wire over. Just get the old one and compare it to the new one (which is clearly an mpc7500 unit which works fine other than the link wire being slightly different). You get exactly the same error if you slide in an Mpc7500 fuser.

        Thanks allot buddies for Quick reply,guess i was so stupid cause i didn't make sure about Thermistors aren't the same with old one,gonna check it out tomorrow, Will keep y'all update about it, Thanks again.turbojetboy and sandmanmac!

          Probably not your problem, but the older versions of this series had problems with the connectors going bad. Mostly would see random SC5xx codes, but set fuser messages weren't out of the question. Ricoh says it was a defect in the plastic triggered by the heat, but I've seen a lot of condensation in that area just from what's normally evaporated out of the paper.

          Given that it happened during a PM I'd bet on it being as noted above - nothing like fighting with the fuser in this beast then having to tear into it again for something self induced...

            Did the same myself last week! the top end of the plug wasn't quite pushed tight. I bet the top two pins are the detection loop!
