Which sensor shows Vsp value in SP mode 3-103? Is it the ID sensor or the PMW pattern sensor? Tnx

ID Sensor A photosensor that measures the image density (reflectivity-VSG)of the drum and of a test pattern (ID sensor pattern-VSP). The output of this
sensor is used to control toner supply.
    1. VSP - ID sensor output when checking the ID sensor pattern image.
    2. VSG -ID sensor output when checking the erased drum surface.

What is PMW pattern sensor? I read the manual I found PWM(pulse width modulation).
    Nobody is perfect..

Vsp should be an eighth of VSG.
      ie
      VSG 4V
      VSP .5V

      VSP Saturated 0V < > 4V Desperate for toner....

      cheers

The PWM indicates the condition of the ID sensor. Ranges between 0 and 256. Normal reading about 65-70 (From memory). If the reading tends towards 256 after running the 3-001 test the machine is compensating for a dirty sensor or poor reflection from the drum.

So if you have toner issues, run 3-001, recheck the output. (if it's over about 80 the sensor WILL need cleaning) run 11 white copies. check 3-103. If vsp is high the machine is low on toner. if VSG is low the drum may not be cleaning or may be old, also the dev may be U?S leaving toner on the drum.

Clean and Vac the drum unit and repeat above.
