been at wits end with this machine..on start up the sc545 code comes up.so we cant do anything.manual has nothing on this.....helppppppppppppp..........

Replace the upper thermistor and before you install it bend it down to make better contact on the heat belt.
Check the fuser contacts where it meets the machine. Paper can get wedged in the contacts for the thermistor contacts.

Before replacing (which I totally agree with a previous post) you want to make sure that thermistors are not covered with melted paper/toner dust which causes this SC code. If they are clean and look unworn then go next step - replace thermistors. I would say replace them as a set (2 in your case). I would also check out thermofuses just in case. But mostly Sc545 caused by failed (dirty) thermistors.
P.S. Yeh, forgot to mention - to clear SC you have to be under service mode while powering machine down.
