You arn't asking for troubleshooting advice and I don't normally recommend this but what the hey, you sound like a competent person. Run 5844 to upload the data , remove the old nvram, insert the new one and clear with 5801. then run 5845 to download to the new nvram.

I have to ask, why do you need to do this? It is always a LAST resort, especially on this model. You can expect all sorts of trouble with false toner out messages and devs going wrong etc etc etc.

          Just so you know.......
Replacing Nvram and moving the data won't reset the electronic counter.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

As mentioned before - NVRAM replacement is the last resort. Check out all harnesses for any damage, electrical connections between boards (controllers) may cause weird issues. Also it's ALWAYS good to have a spare machine you could "borrow" parts from and see if it's going to make any difference...
P.S. DO NOT try to use "used" NVRAM though

Well, these are worse than useless.

This is not an NVRAM issue, it's a harness/connector fault (at a guess.)
