Savin C9020, 9040SP prints slow from remote server

I have a customer who has a C9020, and it is installed locally on each PC using the PCL6 driver. From the PC, they RDC into a remote Nationwide server, and sometimes the prints are very slow, and sometimes it will print 2-3 pages of a 10-20 page document, and the copier will lock up. When it does print properly, the blue data light on the copier flashes as it should. When it locks up, or fails to print at all, the blue data light goes solid, instead of flashing.

They are getting the machine replaced today with a 9040SP, and I am wondering what you guys would do to address this issue. It printed to their old LexMark copier fine, using a PCL driver, without ever having this issue. The LexMark is in the graveyard. I am thinking of using the PCL5e driver to start off with, but I have also had success in clearing up random print issues in the past by using the RPCS driver. I cannot use a PS driver, the PS card is not installed.

It prints fiine locally, fast and proper-like. Thanks in advance.

I have no real high-tech suggestions, but some things to consider are, "yes", you can try PCL5. I generally have the best luck with it. I've also had crappy ethernet cables cause slow printing, and try setting the ethernet speed to "auto" in "interface settings" if it's not already.

So I tried the PCL5 driver, and all their print issues went away. Thank God it was that simple.
