MP2550 with SR790 Finishers

We just received in 2 of these units and both are throwing SC792 codes. The finishers are hooked up and installed properly. Strange that both are doing this. Is there something on the setup that I am missing. Both are very good condition used machines with around 40K on them.

I may be misremembering, but I think that the firmware for the finisher ROM had to be at a certain level for it to work with the newer generation machines.

I think that I read this too, probably in a firmware download recently.

Current version of firmware for the SR790 Finisher is v5.11. It is an EPROM so must be replaced on the Finisher Control PCB. The part number for the EPROM is B4085164.

I will check to see if I can order this chip...not being a Ricoh dealer and all. So if this new firmware Eeprom is replaced that will resolve the error without having to apply any updates to the copier?

I seem to remember you need to check if it is a 790 a or b series...the a version wont work on the newer models
