[Misc] Aficio 1515MF -cutting off print on legal Size only

    I've got a real head-scratcher.
Although, at this point, I think I'm likely looking at a firmware issue, and I don't have the hardware, or means to update this older box.

The problem is that it regularly cuts of the last 1/5 of a page or so, when printing legal size PDF's. If the documents are shrunk to fit 8.5"x 11", it's all good.
Also, it never happens on a single page PDF -only on multi-page docs, and then it's a few, to several of the pages - but never the first page
I even tried a different PDF reader with the same result. It also happens no matter if it's on-line docs or local files.

Strangely, I resolved this problem for them several months back by replacing the RPCS driver with the PCL5. The machine has P/S 3 on board, so today, I tried the P/S driver, the PCL6 driver, and the Mini Driver -all gave the same result. I did a full memory clear -same result. I went back to the RPCS driver just for fun (and because I was out of ideas) and it worked

Just wondering if there are any other "tweaks" or suggestions out there.

Here's what I'm talking about. Page 1 is fine, page 2 is "cut-off":
    Sample.pdf

    Thanks!

Why can't you upgrade the firmware? The 1515 has an SD card slot just like its younger brethren.

Well, to be honest, I actually hadn't really looked into that. I've really only used the MP161 service manual as a reference for the most part on this unit for some time, and I was just relying on my ever-depleting memory, that seemed to tell me it required a flash card. I just dug out my old 1515 SM Disk, and it turns out that only the base models used the flash memory cards.

Now, I suppose my only other issue would be to find a source for the Firmware, which I don't have either.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention

I've got some relatively recent firmware I could throw into a .zip and upload for you.

Just a friendly suggestion... If folks want to exchange firmware, that's great, but it should be strictly between them alone.Any communication should be via PMs, not on the forum pages.

If it's posted for all to see, it attracts the "needies", as it did here. (although it took 2 1/2 months...)

It is against forum rules to be posting links to manuals or firmware, as Canon.Tech recently was reminded.
