the bypass is locked in printer mode from the dashboard. I'm trying to set it up to print number 10 envelopes but it will not do it. print comes out sideways and every one i select as a default setting for the bypass tray will jam. i assume the lock from the printer mode has to go away first, but there is no paper tray setting for com10 envelopes. Does ricoh use a different setting for com10 envelopes through bypass. thanks t

Re: mp c2500 with bypass locked
Can you manually enter the size of the com10 in custom size?
also im guessing you're printing from WORD? if you are have you tried changing page setup (so it looks for com10 envelopes)?
EDIT: Just had a look at the RPCs driver, it supports com10. So make sure the bypass isn't set to a specific size (A4) in tray settings at machine.Last edited by pfinn10; 08-03-2012, 08:37 AM. -
Re: mp c2500 with bypass locked
This may help. Your supposed to run them sideways and select thick paper. Maybe then you will get a com 10 option on size.Attached FilesNEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

Re: mp c2500 with bypass locked
All the lock symbol means is that is will not be selected as a paper source when copying. i.e. if the bypass was programmed as LTR size and the cassettes with LTR paper were to run out, the bypass will not be used as a paper source in COPY mode. It doesn't matter what size you program in user tools for the bypass, as long as the default setting of 'Driver Command' is the priority (the driver size setting overrides the preprogrammed size in the mfp). Whatever size is set in the driver for the bypass tray for that particular job is what it will be expecting. Printing envelopes is tricky, are you using the envelope wizard or mail merge? Sometimes the driver is the issue, if using PCL6 and you can't get it going then try PCL5 or RPCS (if available for this model). I've been finding the best way to feed envelopes is to open the flap and create a custom size in the properties (measure the width x the length from the bottom to the end of the open flap). This will pretty much prevent creases and the extra length helps guarantee proper feed internally between the various relay rollers. All that being said, the reality is that you can go nuts trying to get it to work because of different applications, equipment model, envelope quality and other things outside your control. Attached is an official Ricoh guide on how print envelopes and info on how to unlock the bypass on SOME models (you generally don't want to do this as it makes the bypass the priority tray but it is useful for the small models)....Last edited by teebee1234; 08-04-2012, 02:46 AM.Comment

Anyone else have issues with the reply formatting? I notice all of my indentations and paragraph separations I make don't carry over to the post, just one big statement. Makes it more difficult to read lengthy replies in my opinion.Comment
