[Jamming] Ricoh MP2550 jamming only from trays 1 & 2

Like the title says I am having issues with intermittent jams from tray 1 & 2.
Drawers 3-4 are working fine. I've cleaned the paper path sensor and the registration sensor.
There are times it will chunk out 100 copies but once it starts jamming I get the call and go out,
play with it and it starts working again.

This machine was a rental unit and it came off rental and has been sold and I need to get it repaired...LOL fast.

If any of you kind techs have ideas please let me know.

There are two paper size sensors in the back of the machine that the center of the cassette pushes on that come loose from the base and cause int. jamming. Check to make sure they haven't popped out of their base. There was a piece of mylar they came out with to help hold them in, but I find superglue works just as well.

what are the jam codes? are they non feed jams? have you seen the TSB below?

Make sure that you check the white plastic coupler from the riser ass. The one that raises the tray to the pu roller. Sometimes they crack right down the middle and do not lift the paper to the pu roller enough. Some times the tension spring in the back has lost some pull and does the same thing.

Lift springs, perhaps? What sort of volume have the trays done?

use the lift springs from mp 2510.

Thank you for the replies...

The unit has less than 100k on it and is in a office.
I think the fact that it happens to both tray 1 & 2 is a clue here.
And that 3 & 4 both work without issues says something too.

Will look into the sensor bracket...Thank you CWilson for the TSB.

I will update if the solution is found.
