I normally create a additional account just for the MFD to use on the server and set the password to never expire.
(With the admin's permission and knowledge of coarse).

Otherwise you will get this problem as a standard security policy for many companies is to have their staff change their passwords on a frequent bases hence the password would need to be updated on the MFD all the time as well.

        OK,Thanks.
tomorrow I´ll talk with the Admin and we´ll have to figure out a way for the multiple users that are going to use the scanner, maybe we´ll have to create only one user for all scanning DOCs and share the folder to all.

Is it possible to set up scan to email? Ive used this as a workaround to the same kind of problem.

Scan to E-Mail seems like the Ideal Solution, but if they worry about their users filling up the mailboxes with very large scans, then i would recommend creating a separate account just for the scanning, It doesn't have to be just one folder you can have lots of folders, as longest you have permissions to WRITE on the folder you should be good.

Information to all of you who tried to help me, thank you in advance, after updateting firmware, B8415510E 1.18 B2475510N 2.08 and B2475510P 2.09 (this firmware update is importante for SMB scanning in windows vista) could still not scan to folder even though I could connect to the folder from the machine by the test comunication button under the PATH settings. my problem was, after creating a folder and setting up rights with full control, there was a problem with the user group permissions to the sharefolder that had to be set to: change, read.

This is my feedback. fausto, daz, and certainly to the rest of you.
