    mpc4501 drum conversion

have a solution for the above machine. all details to be released as soon as i have full details. I understand it will allow the black drums to be used in the colour locations.

The MPC2500 black drum is the same as the Color drum except for the connector on the rear.

To modify the MPC2800 Black drum to fit the color slot just cut away the small pin on the connector block and swap the 2 wires round nearest the gear on the connector that plugs into the dev units.

But the MPC2500 BLK drum as the wires in the same place as the 2800 series color you just need to cut out the pin on the rear connector.

Would be awesome if you figure this out.

Do you know about the spc811 and 820 fusers fitting the mpc4500 and 5000s with changing the positions of the 2 pink wires on the connector plug?

I know the answer to this.

Buy some very strong cutters and cut the pin on the rear of the machine out so that it's flush with the top of the PCU's guide rail.

That's what we've been doing anyway. Obviously Ricoh would take a dim view if they saw it!

The same solution can be used on the new MP C5502 range.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.
