                    If your getting intermit'' Sc 542 try changing the 2 sensor at the front for the machine for the coil drive. If it still does it, change the little fuser drive gear in the fuser drive assm, bit of a big job but not bad.

                    Oh and re smashing the thermostats ...not worth the risk just change the thing.
