    MPC2550 SC

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Delivered a MPC2550 a week ago, customers IT dept was setting up network and emailed me yesterday a pic of display showing a SC865-01.
No service manual on this model. MPC3000 series I do have.
Anywho, do I need to replace hard drive or will a format do the trick. Only 180K on this box.
Also, does this model have two drives? If so would I have to replace both drives? 80Gb each? Seagate/Western?
Any other suggestions I might need would be helpful.
    Thank you

Right off the top of my head, what with it being Saturday and all, this has a single 2.5" SATA drive. The capacity, at a guess, is 60GB but you can put a bigger on in.

DO a full hard drive format before you replace the drive. It maybe the machine was not shut down correctly and the lead data on the disk is corrupted.

you may get away with just the IMH format. if it works you don't have to reload the address book etc

Thanks guys, full format and that's it? No lost data? That's it? To good to be true.
This sounds much like a Toshiba. When not shut down correctly several times or more, drive error code pops up, format drive and all is well again.

Did as you suggested and all is well on the western front.
There was also a sc925 code on lower left of display.
                Thanks again

Thanks for the feedback... I would update the firmware as a precaution (SC 925 = netfile error)

Like to pick your brain for a moment.
Which is the best access point to print all current settings on box.
The setting sheet is not under jam info front door.
                    Also aquiring firmware? Best source.
                    Thanks, me

Re the firmware, I assume you have access to your local Ricoh technical site?

Print off the SMC data in SP5990-001.

Regarding the firmware, either download it from Tessa or I'll PM you a link to a site which will send you the firmware.
