    Fax Forwarding (MP C5501)

I am able to setup the fax forwarding on this machine. Every time the client receives fax, it is stored in the memory of the machine. The memory becomes less as faxes are received. Is there a way to autodelete the file once received so as to avoid memory full and to prevent other users to view and print the received faxes?

    1. Press [Facsimile Features].

    2.
    Press [Reception Settings].

    3.
    Press [Reception File Setting].

    4.
Press [Print] or [Store], and then press [OK].

Print does mean, that the file is NOT stored

also, if you do not want the fax to be printed, set fax parameter bit 11 sw 6 to 0

Or tell the client to go into the WIM once in a while and delete some of the earlier files.

I have a MP 6000 that has the faxes forwarded to a folder and not printed, something has gone array and the now have a number of faxes stored in the machine. It won't print them out or allow us to change settings saying reception folder already exists. How can I retrieve/ delete those faxes? Where is the memory that they are stored in. Machine says 5 files are in standby, nothing in HDD.

You probably tried to stop it from printing by changing the "Reception File Setting" to store instead of print. This will cause it to save it as well as forward it. Set it back to print.
also, if you do not want the fax to be printed, set fax parameter bit 11 sw 6 to 0

To turn off printing, make the above change to the fax parameters. This way, if for any reason the file does not get forwarded, forwarding to folder and the path does not exist or forwarding to email and the connection to the SMTP server is down, the fax will then be printed.

Tried that this morning (bit switch 11 06) that didn't help. when setting it back to print from store in the user tools it nsayys reception file already exist setting cannot be changed. Stopped in there this afternoon for another matter and the memory was down to 28%. Am I gonna be down for the count when the memory is full. there is not an additional memory on the fax pcb.
