    go to command propt.
Type "ipconfig /all" space petween the g and/.
Make sure the gateway and subnet mask match.
Type in the IP address in a web browser and see if you get the web page.
Check the port in the print driver.
It should be set to LPR and the print queue to (lp) lowercase.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

You may want to try configuring the port differently. If you go into the printer properties, select the PORT tab and click the CONFIGURE PORT button. You might try changing the port to LPR, changing the name to lp (LP) and enabling byte counting. I've seen it work in some networks.

        Ricoh still not printing

Well, tried all of that. Hooked up a laptop with a crossover, pinged ok - no webpage though. It occured to me that why have an LPT port that works and an Network port that doesn't. Is this a permissions thing on the copier? I am beginning to think the lack of a Scanner/Printer kit is the reason - when I press the scanner button = double beep from the copier. However, when I press the printer button, I get paper tray option. Still scratching my head !!

If you dont have a print/scanner kit a 'printserver' is a good option, plugs into the parallel of the MFD. We use DLink DP-301p+ D-Link DP-301P+ Fast Ethernet Print Server they work a treat.

                Ricoh Printing!!

Yo success!! iMind - thanks for the pdf.....it identified the PCB's in the copier, so I could check Suabe's solution. The copier HAS the printer & scanner kit, but one of the PCB's was not "home". I reseated it AND IT WORKED!! Excellent!
Thank you guys for all your help.

Try to ping the machines Ip first. If it resonds type the IP into a web browser. The user id is admin the default password is password.
                          Check configuration.
Run CMD and do a ipconfig /all.
match ip address + 50, subnet same and gateway same as it came up in CMD.
Reload driver and set the port as machines IP, LPR port with the queue as lp, (as in laser printer lower case).
Make sure you set all the accessories as installed on the machine.
The picture on the driver should look like the machine.
Run a test page in the printer driver.
If you followed all this and it still doesn't work check the network cable or hub-router.
If you can print parallel there is nothing wrong with the copier other than a bad NIC.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

When only one PC is having a problem with connecting to a copier, one of the first things I do is delete the old IP port and create a new one on the PC.

Check To See If You Add The Ip Address Correctly In The Print Driver Port. Print The Test Page From The Same Driver,.
