Ricoh MP2500 - cracked toner supply housing!?

Has anyone come across this?

Lately we are seeing more and more of the toner supply units in these models crack for no reason.

These are all at the same site, and we know the users have no access to other toners that could cause this.IMG-20120905-00123.jpg

Can't say i've had this yet. Sure they aren't forcing toners in with the black lid still on?

Someone is putting the bottles in the wrong way round would be my guess. (cap towards rear not front)


Never seen this happen Usually its the handle they tend to snap off when leaving the cap on the bottle.


Ask then who changes the toner usually and tell them to show you how they do it!

Someone is putting the bottles in the wrong way round would be my guess. (cap towards rear not front)

Have to agree...there's just no reason aside from stupidity on the customer's side that would cause this. The bottle's just aren't that tight in there when installed properly

Looks like you chaps have a good point. I will filter this to the field engineer concerned and ask him to do a visit at the site and have them demonstrate to him how they fit the toner.

Also angry people that have to replace these toners, slam them into the holders in an annoyed humour thus causing breaks..... Start charging for the part and it will soon stop

The plot thickens....

I have spoken to the field engineer and he says that there is only one person in charge of the toner, who goes and fits the toner to all the machines.... and he has been trained to fit it correctly.

I am starting to suspect that there is an issue with the quality of the "cup" as the previous range the "cup" was white and we never had this issue.....

Here in UK the cup as always been Black and ever since the first Russian was Introduced I have NEVER had a Crack appear in the cups.

I still stand by the likely problem is the Operator is a Tard...........
