Scan to folder. Work Intermittently MP161SPF

    Hi guys

I have a MP161SPF that is setup to scan to folder. The machine acts as a server. The scan folder is shared so that 3 other pcs can also access the scanned docs. The machine will scan 100% and then just decide its had enough and no scans will go through. If they reset the "server" the scanning works fine again.

The pc is running Windows 7 32bit and has Eset antivirus, its IP add is 192.168.0.1 and router and gateway 192.168.0.254

    Any ideas?

Just weighing in that I have a client that has experienced the exact same problem. They would call me about once every couple of weeks for a few months, because the scanning went down. It's so similar to your situation it almost sounds like the same place (haha) - standalone PC with static IP address, running windows 7, 1 single scan folder, shared to 3 other PC's, and up-to-date firmware on the MP161.
I'd have them check cables, turn the copier off and on, reboot the router, try another network cable and/or port on the router. Re-booting he PC seemed to be the only way to solve it.
They really only use it for scanning, although it is setup as a backup printer, and printing was never an issue.
At one point I even setup FTP scanning on button '2' so that when the SMB went down, they could try that method, and it failed too!
Problem hasn't re-surfaced in at least a couple of months now, but I have no idea why (?)
