I have to replace the nvram on this unit . I have tried to upload the information on a sd card but it failed . Firstly what size of sd card should I use and secondly is there a way to format this card in slot 3 ?

The new NVRAM has not the serial number configured, so it is not possible to download the data from the SDCard to the new NVRAM.
Input the machine serial number (letter included) through SP5-811. Switch off the machine. Put the SDCard into the service slot. Switch on and download the data through SP5-825.
64mb or 122mb always been helpful to me,make sure it's not write protected, -

I use a 122M with no problems. I have had problems with 2G cards on some models. As far as the formatter, use this.

I have formatted a 4 gig sd card with the link you provided . I turn the copier off slide the sd card into slot 3 turn the machine on let it come to ready then enter mode 5-824-1 and execute and within 5 seconds it fails . what am I doing wrong . My intent is to upload a good NVRAM from another machine onto a sd card then download this information onto a new NVRAM on the defective unit I need it in . Am I correct with this procedure should this work ?Comment

I think the 4G SD card is the problem.
Use a 1G or less.
Just reread you post...the above should allow the 5824 to complete but I don't think what you are trying will work. To download the nvram requires the serial #'s to match.
Think you're stuck entering the values from the birth cert into the new nvram manually.Comment
