    Ricoh MP2852SP Function Priority Problem

    Hello dear friends,

I have a Ricoh MP2852SP (crazy boy). It has Java. And Java is working. I work PCC(Equitrac Print Copy Control application) on Java.

123 (User tools)- System Settings- Function priority- Copier, Fax, Printer, Document Server, Scanner But Don't Show "JAVA TM/X"

(I try firmware update, I try java update)

Do you have any idea for this trouble?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but did you ever solve this issue? I have a MPC5000 with exactly the same issue, can not select Java as priority as it is missing!

Java its self is not a selectable priority function.

Get a new Equitrac VM card. Equitrax does periodic read/writes to the VM card and it damages the card.I though this software problem was corrected years ago.

JavaTM/X isn't available. Have done a full NVRAM clear, formatted the HDD. Reinstalled PCC. I've tried another controller and another Java card. Still no joy. We've set up 4 of these for the customer but this one isn't playing ball. If you hit the (other function) button, PCC loads, but can't set Java to priority so it starts up at power on!! Like I say, it's fine on the other devices we set up, just this one!

Make sure that the Java VM card Type N is in the slot 2. Go to Downloads | Ricoh Global and select your region. Click on Product Manuals, select your model. Follow the instructions for starting JAVA. If JAVA itself is not showing as "Starting Up", then none of the other APPs will install or start properly. If it is not installed properly and shown s "Starting Up", priority for the APPs cannot be set.

Check the VM card is not set to read only, ie. physically locked by the lock switch on the VM card.

Looks like the java set has not been migrated to the Equitrax card as one unit. This might happen
if the VM card was physically locked during the software migration.
