Re: MPC 2500 SC380
SC360 is a dead black toner pump.
If the black toner pump has locked up it may have stressed the main motor drive causing an SC380 ?

Re: MPC 2500 SC380
Yep, densitys must be strong and even from front to rear on all 4 colours. The patches developed on the image belt allow the drum phase correction routine to pass. Get all the densitys correct then run the procedure again and check the result. I have never seen sc380 be anything other than doing this right. If the main drive has been fiddled with or even worse any sort of memory clear been done then you may be in trouble.Comment

Re: MPC 2500 SC380
I've had 380 caused by the drum position sensors failing on a certain colour. If one goes, I replace them as a set. They're on the back of the main drive unit near the drum spindle bearing and their part number is AW02 0145.It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment

Re: MPC 2500 SC380
I'd do this as a starter as the parts are cheap and easily accessible. Don't bother trying to figure out which sensor is causing the issue just change 'em all. Because believe me when you're talking about pulling out the main drive on these things you are talking at least 2-3 hours of pain!!
Just one thing to check as well, has there been incidents of jamming around the registration that coincides with this code being logged? Reason being I had a call on one of these a while back ostensibly for jamming but I also noticed it threw up a bunch of SC codes in the background not visible to the customer (including SC380). Doing a bit of digging I found a bulletin relating to faulty drum phase sensors, changed them out and (touch wood) problem solved.Comment
