Hi everyone. My cust has a networked MP2510 they have been using for some time now. Suddenly they can not print to it but can still scan which also uses the NIC.. Their IT guy checked it out and decieded it was the NIC on the copier. I could not get a connection when I hooked my laptop to it so I'm guessing the control board. I tried crossover cable and usb. Is there some way to confirm the board is the problem before I order a new one? I don't see a removable NVRAM on the board. Can the settings and meter readings be transfered to a replacement board? I have the manuel but could not find this information. Thank you for any information you can give.

Re: can't print to a MP2510
Make sure user authentication codes for printing aren't enabled.
If it scans, pings and you can see WIM it can't be the nic.Why do they call it common sense?
If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?Comment

Re: can't print to a MP2510
thanks for the response. USB was enabled, I could not ping from cust computer, I tried another sd card with no luck. SD card was from a savin version but should have worked I think. Never tried the WIM, I will try that tomorrow and try the SD card again.Comment

Re: can't print to a MP2510
Check in WIM to be sure some over zealous IT guy hasn't disabled Diprint and LPR protocols, you know the ones that allow the machine to print. Seen that a few times. They try to make if more secure and end up turning off the important ports and protocols. Also ensure no one has input access ranges, though that's less likely.

Re: can't print to a MP2510
I have a question. Would the copier still scan to folder or email even if the IP address had changed? I haven't tried it, but it would explain no ping, WIM and print.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. ~Thomas EdisonComment

Re: can't print to a MP2510
I'm sure if the MFP's IP had changed that it would still scan since that is an outgoing connection. Good point Jonesy, I hadn't thought of something that simple.Comment

Nice, hope its that simple. I will check it out. Regarding the SD card mentioned earlier, if the print/scan shows up in user tools is that proof that the SD is good?Comment

Re: can't print to a MP2510
would you mind to print out the network settings and post them here?

Re: can't print to a MP2510
If the machine got set for DHCP that would show these same symptoms.
Scanning would work, but WIM, printing, and ping would fail.
I had a hotshot IT guy do that to me once, and had the same problem.
