    Ricoh Aficio 2035 SP-546

I went out to a call on a Ricoh Aficio 2035 with an SP-546 error code and eventually replaced the thermistors to correct the problem, however it didn't correct the problem. I also noticed in our internal records that we replaced the thermistors year ago. I eventually swapped out the fuser unit with one I had and fixed the problem but I took the fuser unit that was giving me the issue and put it in another copier. I am still getting the SP-546 error code even after replacing the thermostats. What in this unit could still be causing me to get this error code with this fuser unit?

SC-546 is a thermistor connector error. I'd check the connector, and the wiring beyond it is in good shape

Problem lie on the thermostat housing, tiny metal copper filling which short to the metal housing .
Replace the thermostat housing, make sure you brush away the copper filling.

              Also check the heat lamp.

I have had this problem many times out in the field. I know this sounds silly but when you are putting the fuser unit back into the machine, are you putting the 1 screw back on to hold it in place? If not try that first.

Common problem if a tech forgets to screw it back into place and leaves the client site, once they get a paper jam in the fuser/inverter section, customer removes paper from the area, doesn't realize they have slighly moved the fuser out of position and hence the SC code 546 appears.......

Change the main black connector block on the rear of the fuser. It comes complete with wiring to the stats and lamp terminals, or if you have another machine, swop the complete fusers over and you could find that both could work as they marry up with the connector socket in the machine in a slightly different position.

to me that you have to clean the copper contacts, tighten the screws and replace the thermistors
make sure you do not have plugs lus toner
