Try doing a few searches of this very site, this has been answered repeatedly ad nauseum.

First tip, you are looking to access the supervisor account. Check in the security OP guide

There is talk of inputting supervisor, fine but will only allow an 8 figure input.
Tried admin to no avale. What about "reboot/software"?

          Hi

There are two ways, the supervisor & supervisor input to login then reset the admin password then login as admin....
          Or in factory SP.

Try accessing 'User Tools' and logging in using the following credentials:

            Username: supervisor
Password: leave blank, empty, null, you get the idea...

If logging in is successful then you will navigate to 'System Settings'> 'Administrator Tools'> 'Program / Change Administrator'> ensure Administrator1 has the default username of admin and set a blank password for Administrator1 and log out. Now log in with the default admin login, admin and leave the password field blank.

Sorry for the frustration on this topic, seems someone asks this over and over and it gets old going over it time and again. If the supervisor password has been changed then there will be a different procedure, again already covered on this site.

As stated above display will allow a 8 figure input. Supervisor is 10 spaces.
I have looked in SP till my eyes went blurry.
Do you have the solution in SP mode?

Thanks for hanging in there with me. You're a good sport.
It sure can be a challenging when this MPC2550 is its own beast.
Anyway in user tools where is the access point to log in?

Let's get clear on the issue at hand. Has the customer enabled 'User Codes' or 'Basic Authentication' and simply can't remember what was set and therefore can't use the machine? Or is it an issue where something in 'User Tools' needs changed and there is no access because 'Administrator Authentication' is enabled? Sounds like Ricoh products may not be something you deal with regularly.

I have no clue what the customer has changed in regards to User codes or Basic Authentication.
I have tried to change & correct settings in user tools and SP but keeps telling me I don't have the authority. Sounds like my wife.
So if johnyb is correct that might be the solution?
And yes, this is a first on a MPC2550 for me. Hey, I just can't pass up a good challange. What's another gray hair. It's the tech DNA.
Like I said this box has a a lot more goodies than we'll say the previous models have.

Try to use WIM (web-image monitor provided by Ricoh) and then follow the procedure explained in previous posts. Probably it will allow you to use more than 8 letters.
WIM - an application which allows you to access machine's setings (you have to be on a network or direct connections at that time).
                            Good luck!
