    Ricoh MP 4000 Duplexing issue

Good morning. I'll start off by saying that I'm new to Ricoh machines, and as such I don't know the GUI very well. My company has recently taken over the service contract for about a dozen 4000/5000's at FAMU. They seem to be great machines thus far, save for the over-engineered cleaning web.

I've got a problem with one copier defaulting to duplex. I can of course turn the duplexing feature off for all tray's, but that isn't really a viable option, as they'll need to duplex from time to time. I spent 15-20 minutes going through the menu logged in as admin, and failed to locate the area which would allow me to set the default printing to simplex. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Press the Program button next to the Clear All yellow key and return to Default settings should do what you need

x 2 ....with these machines and any other similar Ricohs, in order to set the basic default functions for the copier, the user can select what they want, then select "program", then and you'll see something like "the current settings can be programmed as defaults..." and you can either select "program" or "restore to factory defaults"

Thanks are in order, to the both of you. Unfortunately, setting it back to factory defaults didn't work (seems odd, I know). So I just set it to Simplex, and saved that as the default setting. Thanks again, to the both of you. I could have spent hours on that, logically thinking it would be in the machine menu. I appreciate your extraordinarily quick responses.

You reminded me that "duplex" is actually the factory default. Oh well, glad you got it figured out

If you want the System Settings back to default, press and hold # and then press the System Settings button on the touch screen. This will revert all System Settings back to default. Also works for the other functions.
