    Scanner function doesn't work when Postscript card is installed in Savin C6045

    I just received a Postscript card for our C6045 so we could print from Macs on our network. I'm installing the card into SD slot 3 (which is marked service) and it causes the print/scan function not to work.

    Do I need to change SD Slot 3 to be an expansion card slot and not a service slot? Or is there something else I need to do.

    EDIT: So after more research it looks like I need to merge the printer/scanner card with the postscript card. I don't want to just copy files over and risk screwing something up. It looks like there is a program called Aplimove that allows me to merge these. Where can I get this?

      Applimove is part of the machine's software. The procedure is described in the machine's service manual. What is in the other expansion slot?
      It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Slot 1 - system cardSlot 2 - printer/scannerSlot 3 - empty (a sticker next to the expansion cards denotes this as being the service slot)

              Ah, okay. You'll have to see the procedure I mentioned in the service manual to Applimove the Printer / Scanner card onto the PS3.

                          As Jomama said though, follow these instructions TO THE LETTER. Otherwise you'll end up with two bricked SD cards and a pretty much useless machine.

                              So I tried this but.. failed.

                              When I put the cards in their respective slots (PS in Slot 2, Print/Scan card in Slot 3) and then try and boot the machine WITH the door OPEN. It would never finish loading.

                              If I boot the machine with the door closed, it started up fine. Once booted it wouldn't go into print mode but I could get to the SP modes.

                              However, when I tried to execute SP5873 it gave me a FAILED notice.

                              I'm assuming this happened because the door MUST me open when you turn the machine back on - any idea why it just sits at "Please wait"?

                                  Well - as luck would have it, it looks like the card already had the PRINT/SCAN module copied to it as I booted up with ONLY the PS3 card and everything works fine. I did buy the card used so I guess I should have assumed that before going through all this fun..
