I have a MPC4502 with a tonor low msg which i cannot get to go away. The machine will go to a tonor end situation and will load the new tonor to get rid of the tonor end msg. but will still show a tonor low msg. tonor must be getting through to the pdcu as the end message goes away and the CQ is not affested in any way. looking at sp3101 09 it still shows as a negative figure which is why the tonor low is still showing, a new bottle does not reset this figure. Any ideas.

Re: MPC4502 tonor low msg.
What toner is being used oem or cheap, have you looked at the pumps and sensors and cleaned all....
My guess is a blockage or a developer problem causing excess toner usagesigpic -

Black toner pump. Pretty sure it's on those models that they get clogged up a lot.Comment

Re: MPC4502 tonor low msg.
the tonor pump has been replaced, so dont think it is a supply issue as it will recover from a tonor end condition and CQ is ok. system seems to work as it should its just that the tonor low wont go away ! The usage shown in the sp shows a negative figure. its this i need to reset somehow.Comment

Re: MPC4502 tonor low msg.
I had this problem on a MPC2500 many moons ago Ricoh eventually Just replaced the machine with a New one as they couldnt figure out what was causing it we changed the toner supply system, nvram and various PCBs and that didnt fix the toner low message.
I would be tempted now though to replace the Dev Unit dont think we even bothered back then due to it was a Brand New Machine...Comment

Re: MPC4502 tonor low msg.
If the fault was no toner...then the toner pump is the way to go...but for "near end" messages the nvram/engine clear is the fix.
Clearing the Engine means you keep most of the data...just need to re input registration settings, perform forced line adjustment and a color calibration.Comment
