You can't reset the chips on these machines. Also, don't run non-OEM toner in these machines if you can help it, it makes the toner pumps fail like mad.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

In fact, if the Add Toner message won't go away, replacing the black toner pump is generally your best bet.

BATA take their advise, It is proven. I've been down that road along with them. Toner pumps fail, again and again and again, go OEM with these machines!

You can set SP3045 from 0 to 1, this would disable Toner end detection at all, but i am afraid, that this will not make you happy in the end

              Hi Guys
I had to replace black and yellow toners - bought two identical off an amazon supplier, both look OEM in proper boxes etc the black loaded no problems and status bar showed full charge but the yellow keeps reporting no toner. I have got it running again by using your tip to set SP3045 from 0 to 1, but is there anything else I should do or look at?

              Many thanks.

Replace the yellow pump and pipe (or at least clean the current pipe).

Only buy Ricoh toner either from a local Ricoh, Savin, Lanier, or Gestetner dealer or direct from Ricoh. I doubt if the Amazon supplier will send someone out to check the toner.

Thanks very much for your advice. I can hear the pump running and with the reset counter off its copying fine, the old yellow toner did have a residue of rattly hard bits of toner so I guess a particle of solidified toner may have got in to the pipe.

In answer to slimslob I only wish I could find a dealer willing to come out and service and repair my machine, lord knows I have tried every agent within a 50 mile radius but to no avail. I don't enjoy having to try and fix it myself. If you can recommend someone who would service and repair a single use low count machine in Matlock I would be grateful!

Nope they were one of the first I tried when my machine broke. Fortunately after failing to find an engineer I was able to fix it with the help the guys on this forum. But I would rather pay someone to do it who knows what they are doing.

I left voicemails with Ricoh but they never came back to me, and I collared one of their engineers on a customers site but he just gave me the head office number and they still failed to return my call.

Its a cracking reliable machine, the nature of my business means it does very little work but what it does is vital to my business. Yes I bought it second hand but it has been a gem. All the dealers are only interested in selling me a new one.

Sometimes the chips are out of whack, there was a TSB that if it read no toner in the bottle on a new one basically go to sp3045 and set it to 0 then exit and reboot the machine, then go back to sp3045 and turn it back on to 1 and reboot if needed but usually the bottle ready empty will then read full again. If the bottle reads full but machine says add toner anyway then your pump is probably out or tubes are clogged up, turning off the toner read will only get it running for a short time before the pages get faded out or it starts asking for toner again.
