[Jamming] Ricoh DF3030 dog ears originals intermitantly

I have run across this issue on several accounts and had frustrated other techs in my office.
I have looked at the feed process both in simplex and duplex mode. It appears to catch the
top right edge of the doc as it leaves the doc feeder. No obvious damage but is very stubborn
as it is not on all the originals.
Any ideas would help as there seems to be no bulletins regarding this.

    thank you

I've had this caused by the DF slit glass put in place the wrong way round. One side seems to be slippier than the other. Check the scanner frame is level too, a DF not sat straight can also cause this.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

I had this problem once; ended up tightening and eventually replacing the left hinge on the doc feed.

I've had this a few times...
Basically it's the metal leaf springs on the black plastic guide which put pressure on the grey underside relay rollers, they loose their tension, if you add more tension to the leaf spring it will allow the black guide to sit lower and stop the top edge of the originals crashing into it occasionally.

Very common Problem actually the Springs on the Left Hinge get weak and need removing and stretching a little Fixes the issue 95% the other 5% required new springs.

Agree to the springs from the left hinge. You can stretch them and/or put something under the spring e.g. a washer (2,3,4...)

Agree with the all these posts it is very common.
We usually add washers to the springs on the left hinge and it works all the time.Im pretty sure an rtb was released about this issue as well.
