ricoh mpc 2050 no power

Hi.I have an mpc 2050 that ,when switched on the machine doesn't do anything. The led above the soft power button on the Rhs of the operation panel is the only thing that is lit.The pwoer supply has been replaced recently.Any ideas would be welcome.

Check the operating panel.
I had the same problem once in a MPC2500 and it was the main board of the operating panel

Changing the operating pannel helped me out too in a similar case. (aka +1)

Its its the same Polygon mirror motor as the mpc2800 it could be thats gone pete tong and taken out the bicu board at the same time.

Check the operating panel.
I had the same problem once in a MPC2500 and it was the main board of the operating panel

Would this stop the machine from heating up as nothing at all is working bar the led lighting.

I had this problem once on a MPC2000. One the small green light was on and nothing more. No heat, nothing on screen ecc. Found out it was the flat cable that was damaged by the previous tech that has opened the machine. The one that connects the iob with the bcu. Maybe yours is just out of its place. It takes just a few screews away to find out, worth to try.

Use a flashlight and shine it directly to nonoperational ("black" touch panel). You will be able to see some information while shining the light onto op panel. Usually there is SC code there.
I guess you have a similar problem as mine I experienced few months ago with MPC2551.
Ended up replacing BICU + polygon mirror motor at the same time and it resolved the issue.
P.S. before I got to that resolution I replaced touch panel, power supply for a touch panel, checked all fuses etc. nothing helped. Good luck!

i have the same on mpc 4500 but jest led fore 2 sec and break down

I second the poly motor and BICU board, must be replaced together though as it is the poly motor that is the main cause.

i had this problem in mpc 2500 and was the poligonal motor .But can be other motor, try to disconnect some motor like poligonal or also the laser unit . In mpc 2800 was laser unit but not poligonal motor. In mp 8001 was power supply failed..

Laser cable separated there is Nothing try to disconnect pol +fuse+lct nothing i think that is the power suplly

You might try disconnecting the Hdd. Had this symptom on previous models, unplugged hard drive machine came to ready.
