[Jamming] Ricoh 2045

this copier is wadding(major folding) inside the registration rollers when duplexing 11x8.5 paper. No problem with 8.5x11R paper. 11x8.5 paper no problem when copying 1 side only or copying on back-side when paper is put back into the drawer. Would this be the duplex unit, paper, fuser trouble or some other cause???

Silly question here, but are the guides in the trays tight up against the paper? If the paper is floating around in the tray it can give you problems. Or the guides out of position can give the same problem. Just a thought

Have you taken out and cleaned the reg clutch?

It's either a rego clutch or just below the rego rollers there are some metal guides, they are slightly bent....

do you try to replace a registration clutch or clean it...

Replace Reg and relay roller clutches.
Relay clutch is sticking causing the paper to bunch up @ registration.

Sounds like a duplexer issue to me.

I wouldn't think it the reg clutch just because it only does it when he duplexes. I believe there is a duplex exit sensor that might be the culprit.

Check the Mylars on the right hand door (below the Transfer unit), I had one just the other day that had warped and bunched up, causing jamming and creases in the paper as it was passing through (this was intermittent)

i have the same issue (aficio 1045), paper get folded when duplex copy,

first paper duplex copy ok but not fully exit the machine, the second paper jam just before the relay sensor 1 and get folded, only occur when duplex copying.

i will check reg clutch and tray feed clutch

i replace the clutch motor on tray1/tray2 part no. AX20-0138 still monitoring

i think fix the problem

Registration and feed motor clutch is same part number.

If it gives Z folds replace relay clutch with AX20 0280 if memory serves
