    AFICIO 2238C Color scanning result only scan half page but b/w scanning no problem.

    Hi Folks,

    Please help me, I got 1 copier machine aficio 2238c. When I do color scanning on the machine, the scan document supposedly come up with PDF format and got multi page on it (SMB method scanning) in the destination folder. But what happen is the scanned document only come out half page only and not scanning full page. Some more, the paper that I scan previously also been save in the current document that I just scanned before (Overlapping) and some more, If I do scanning a lot for example 5 pages, the scanned document will saved as PDF but single page and some of other pages save in jpeg/tiff format but, the jpeg and tiff cant be open cause the file is damaged or corrupted.

    But scanning b/w and document save in PDF format got NO PROBLEM.

    Please Help me!! I don't know what to do!! I appreciate

      First, I'd try updating all of the firmware on the machine. I don't recall the exact reason, but I know there were updates for scanner reliability for this model over time.

      Secondly, make sure that the memory DIMMs are seated and properly installed, and also make sure the hard drive is still good as well. Sounds like you've got some kind of memory leak going on somewhere.

              I agree, sounds like it could be a firmware issue, especially since the file types are random and the files are getting corrupted.

              I've seen scanner ccd's go bad and cause problems with copying/scanning in color where the image would be distorted or half pages, but that doesn't sound like the case here.

              You may be looking at board replacement if firmware doesn't solve the problem.
