    MPC300sp - SC codes on setup (995-02)

I have a strange animal here.

We have configured and sold a whole lot of these without fail - until yesterday.

Unboxed the machine, fitted the fax unit (as per the install sheet) and switched on the power...)

    BEEEP! SC-995-02

    We have:

    removed the fax unit
    reformatted the hdd
    reloaded the stamp data
Swopped the hdd with a new one (did the stamp data again)
    Removed the encryption SD card

All for the purposes of testing.

At some stages we thought that we had won as the code was gone, but then was sporadically replaced with SC-670 and 870.

At this stage, even without the HDD the machine gives a SC-995-02

I'm starting to think that it is caused by a faulty controller, but cannot confirm this.

Please, any advice would come HIGHLY appreciated, as I don't want to buy a controller for nothing!

Seeing as you've nothing to lose you might as well get the birth certificate from the underside of the doc feeder and do a memory all clear. Also make sure the serial number is inputted correctly.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Probably new firmware on the machine and old firmware on the fax option as caused it to happen I would update all the firmware with the fax option installed before proceding with a ram clear.

You did fit the memory module for the fax right?

Yes thanks - double checked the fax board myself.

Have done the deed -memory all clear!

I backed up the nvram data before and restored it, so it saved me 3.5 pages of non default data input!

On the surface all seems to be ok, except that the printer feature does not load, and when I insert the securty SD card, a message pops up that says that it cannot install the software, as it was installed on another machine?

          Any ideas?

Weird part is that I can install printer firmware which it accepts, but no matter how long the machine is on, the printer option does not start??

Restore the address book and user stamp data and check that the usb and net as not reverted back to factory default value ie turned off.

Oh and maybe you have to re input the serial number for the security card to work.
