    Fiery patch question

Hi, All. I just got a mpc7501 in with a e-7200 controller hooked up to it. Just to check it out, I loaded the command workstation on my office PC, which is on our network. My question is, can I load the needed patches from there with no problems, or do I need a dedicated PC off the network? The Fiery is up and running just fine, I would like to update the patches before installing in the field.

You candownload the patches via the import job function in cws. Be sure to check 4 specific order for somepatches and download to the direct queue.

Thanks, but I know the procedure, refer to my original question.

Tonerbomb is right on the money.

To reinforce what he said, be sure to follow the EXACT order and any special instructions included on the TSRC site when installing, including any required reboots. The technical information is normally part of the zip file download for each patch - please read each one very carefully.

Any failure to do so will likely lunch the Fiery in a heartbeat, and force you to re-image and start all over.

As for your original question, as long as your PC and Fiery are on the same network, you should have no issues provided you have a solid connection. Don't do like I did once and try to update the from home via VPN. It will likely crash miserably - as it did for me.
