If you remove drum units from the copier and look into the back of the cavity you will see the locating lugs on the rear of the plate that holds the PCU.

This is the lug you have to remove.

I built a jig that quickly snaps the lug off and I'll post a picture as soon as I find out which tech borrowed it from the workshop and is to slack to return it.

Thanks for the great cheat sheet. I added some procedure photos that I cribbed from other threads (sorry OP's, I'll try and hunt down your names and give you credit). I didn't have a photo of cutting the pin in the rear, so if someone has one or could take one then please add it to this pdf and clean it up as you see fit.

*FYI, I edited it online with "PDFescape".

Ive not as yet had to replace a MPC3001 PCU and we have a few on 500k now.

The MPC2500 Black drum B224-2042 Fits the MPC2800 COL slot without changing the wires over but still needs the connector corner removing Btw! and its cheaper than the 2800 blk PCU

Of course you have to use the correct K unit as the shape is completely different.
Never tried putting a MP C4500 pcu in a MP C4000
So you use the D0292256 PCU to replace the colour PCUs in the new models? We haven't changed a PCU yet, somehow!

    Ricoh MPc4502 PCU

    Hi,

I've hunted high and low for a definitive answer to this but have so far drawn a blank.

Does anybody know whether any of the previous PCUs (B2242042 or D0292256) will go into the new MPc4502 or 5502 machines?

Also, has anybody successfully used the B2242042 type PCUs in the MPc4000 type machines?

    Ta in advance,

    Chris
