[Error Code] duplex problem (1 orig. -> 2sides ) , the double sided are reversed in the paper !?

    hello guys ,

    I have Aficio 161mp spf machine ,
-It was working fine in the duplex mode (1 orig. -> 2sides )
I put the papers in the same orientation & it produce the papers in a right orientation

-suddenly without any changes in the copy settingsI could recall :
when using the ADF ,the outcome is reversed 180 degree on the other side of the paper !!

the orientation setting is -as default- don't specify .
I know if I choose always specify I could get it to work fine , but through a lot of steps every time
I want it to work automatically as it was before .

    thanks in advance

That is a bit of a strange one. I don't know what might cause it, other than possibly a 'glitch' in the system software.
My only suggestion would be to try a soft reset by holding * and # simultaneously for about 12 seconds, until You hear the machine click and/or beep. Release them, and the machine will reboot.
Don't worry, none of your settings will be affected.

        Thanks sandmanmac

I did what you told me & it printed a diagnose report with no errors !

        And the problem still exists

Can I update the whole firmware by connecting it to my pc ?
( If it's easy to do & may help fixing the problem , what do you think ? )

Firmware update may do the trick, but it's not that simple, or readily available to end users, so you will probably have to call a depot in your area if you want to proceed

I asked the retail supplier I bought the machine from ,
he told me that this is the normal mode ! & all copiers he have does the same thing !
& he didn't believe me when I told him that it was copying the 2 sides in the correct orientation .

I asked him about the firmware , he told me that I would give him the machine BIOS so that he would install a new one on it .
but there is no use from it since that all the firmwares he have does the same thing !

            --------------------

After some asking , I found out that there's settings for that issue but for other models :

            123User Tools/Counter
            Copier/Document Server Features
            General Features
            Next Page 2/4
            A- Duplex Mode Prority= 1 Sided to 1 Sided
B- Copy Oriention in Duplex Mode= Top to Top
C- Original Orientation in Duplex Mode= Top to Top

I don't have these settings on my machine , but for sure there will be other settings = these , right ?
