This one is a very tricky one. MP 1350 coming up with SC 492 suction pump error. I replaced the hole suction pump assembly and the IOB board. Still SC 492. When I ground the pump and do the suction pump output test everything is fine. When I remove the grounding SC 492. Checked also the cables from suction pump to IOB board. What is the suction pump actually doing? (get rid of the pressure in the Developer unit?) Who gives the suction pump the signal to start? Any Ideas folks would be very appreciated

Re: MP1350 with SC 429 suction pump error
Its not the pipes as they have been vaccd out, no blockages all the way from the dev tank to the suction bottle. The motor had definately flogged out as it was screeching when turned by hand. The entire pump assy has been replaced including the sensor, the IOB board has been replaced, the BCU has been replaced, the wiring from the IOB to pump connector has been checked for continuity / bad grounds and theyre all good.
The motor works when grounded, and it will print and work in output mode when I short out the negative on the motor so its getting 24V.
Somewhere along the line the IOB isnt getting told to ground it and turn it on.
No-one ive spoken to seems to have had this before so next im doing the controller but its only guessing now...what else is there?Comment

Re: MP1350 with SC 429 suction pump error
I am guessing it will be perminantly on then though as the I/O board switches negative grounding to turn the pump on. You have a strange one there and hope you get to the bottom of it quicklyComment

Re: MP1350 with SC 429 suction pump error
Yeah I could hard wire the negative to the chassis but would be permanently on...would probably suck all the dev out pretty quickly so not really a proper fix!
Replaced the controller board...not that either.Comment

Re: MP1350 with SC 429 suction pump error
I had a crappy problem with a 1357 a little while ago. After a big service it kept giving me sc495, changed all the pipes etc.... ended up moving toner around the machine using the motors and clutches to make sure there was toner throughout the system. Also, make sure the lid is on the toner supply cylinder. After that not had a problem since.Comment

Re: MP1350 with SC 492 suction pump error
I need help!
I have a 1107EX with this same problem. Replaced the suction motor and if I ground it, it starts working as soon as I turn on the machine. Otherwise I get SC492. I checked the harness from the IOB conector (CN320) to the motor and it's good.
Any ideas out there?
