    Ricoh 2035 charge roller

Seem to have certain machines that the charge roller gets dirty really fast with I'm guessing is paper dust causing copy quality problems. I have tried with and without the second cleaning blade and also the different springs. Any thoughts. Thanks

I have many machines of this model and find they run well when Regular Full PM's are carried out according to the Manual with all recommended Parts by Ricoh.

We had issues with crap paper causing dirty charge rollers. I had about 85 of these in schools. I carried Scotch-Brite and would clean the crap off the charge roller frequently. Not a solution, but the band aid worked well enough.

As has been said, do PM on time; these machines will not tolerate running drum/developer beyond recommended life.

I always replace drum, c.roller and blades, and dv at same time. It does not help any. I was thinking also of the paper being some of the problem. What symptoms occur when the transfer belt contact clutch is not working properly besides wearing down the drum life.

The Drum, Charge Roller and Cleaning blade all have 150k lifespans. the Developer has a 300k lifespan. So you only need to replace Dev "In theory" every 2 drums.

The "in theory" is the operative phrase here. Of course, the ones I dealt with were all in schools, abused as much as possible, and ran old grocery bags for paper. We considered a developer change at 150K pretty much SOP.

I had a problem machine that kept getting toner prematurely on to the ch rlr. I cleaned and vacuumed the toner auger and whole cavity out. It had built up with paper dust and the toner clumps and could not go back in the dv as well as it should and was spewing out up into the ch rlr.
