I have the manual, replaced both thermistors and all thermostats, any idea before I'm starting to replace boards? Thanks.

I like how your first sentence was "I have the manual" - so if you have the manual, you'll notice it states that it is a software error.

I'd start by flashing the firmware and then, if the problem still ocurs, follow the manual and start replacing those boards, maybe with a known working machine.

Sorry. I have to ask. You have run the SC reset in SP mode right?

I always forget to ask that. It's like someone saying "My car doesn't work" and you replying "Did you turn the ignition key?"

        But you got a point.

Thanks for the help, yes I reset it, the copier works for a wile and the sc comes back, I'm working on ricoh for 20+ years but never had to upgrade firmware etc, I guess there is always the first time. I'm not a Ricoh dealer so I'll try to find the sd card, any idea where?
          Thanks again.

The SD-Card should be 1 GB or less. If you're a Ricoh tech you should know this. There are a lot of reasons to upgrade firmware. I'm not doing it every day on Ricoh machines, but there are situations where firmware helps to resolve issues.

I hope this will help you to troubleshoot the machine.

                1. Use SP5810 in SP mode to reset the SC.

                2. Check and reseat CN257 on IOB board.

                3. Verify if thermistor connections are good by using SP1106.

                ------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of the time, I replaced the fusing belt, bearings, heat roller and problem is solved.

On the newer Ricoh colour machines firmware is very important, I check firmware levels on pretty much every call. There are loads of faults that are rectified just by upgrading it

I've had sc553 from a loose thermistor connection, aw10-0105(i think), the one at the top. Just an idea, that would work for about 20mins at a time before popping back up again
