Not sure if this question is along the same line, but does anyone know in what format the files on the Ricoh SD cards are written?

Because as we all know, once that sd has been in a (Windows) pc, the machine refuses to use it.

There must be a way around this? Maybe using a Linux box for duplication instead? Any ideas?

Hello buddies. I do some C/C++ programming in my spare time and following the advices on this site (a very good one I dare say) I've developed an application to decrypt the nvram (only on Ricoh/Savin ecc) and displaying the admins and supervisor names/passwords. As I want to share this with this site but as you know anyone on the net could get the program as soon as they log-in (not just techs) I was asking if there was a way not to share this with wrong people. So I'm asking you guys how can I share this. The program just needs the nvram and nothing else and developed on c++ so it works in windows and linux also. Bare in mind that I'm not asking money for this (how could I as long as the information was found on this site). But don't want to distribute it to everyone (read wrong people). So please throw in some solutions.

For those who have tried the tool can you tell me in which copiers does it work?
I've tried so far these:
MPC 2000 / 2500 /3000 / 3500 /4500
Aficio 3035

Don't have any other copier here

If it doesn't work on your particular copier can you send me the file to double check?

A possible way to be sure about the correct people getting hold of the NVRAM pass word program is to check how long they have been on copytechnet. I feel that anyone that is NOT actively contributing to this site in the last 12months should be doubted.

I just had a quick read of the NVRAM password source code.

I see your NRAM program has a log in password. That is one way of keeping the use of the program in check.

You should make the NVRAM password program expire. That is, allow the program execute for 6-12months at time then drop dead.This will ensure the current version is out there being used and that the unwise users will be left with an outdated useless version unless
they come back to you for the current version. At least you will know who is using the program.

Think about it. Does the end user knows how to download the NVRAM? if he knows how to do this he probably would damage the copier in a way or another. Anyway it takes nothing to add those few lines

Gave it a quick try on a Win2K VM and it said it wasn't a valid win32 application. What platforms is it compatible with? It will be used in conjunction with a Win7 box in the field. Just curious. Thanks.

Ok, here's the deal. I've uploaded the file to my yousendit.com server. The download is password protected and the archive file is also password protected. For anybody who wants it, you will have to email me from your company email account. If you use a gmail, yahoo or any other domain other than your company name, you will not only not get the password but I won't even reply to you. These measures have been implemented to protect the file from getting into the wrong hands. The only exceptions will be if I get an email from someone I know on this site, then I'll send the passwords. You'll have to tell me who you are on Copytechnet in your email.

Work with Win7 (did not work at mpc 3002, but I use password and the encryption) Will send the nvram data to skynetto

Even Microsoft drop support for Win2k
It will work from XP to 7. Didn't tried Win8
