Is it possible to disable super G3 fax mode thus pegging the modem speed at 14400.
We have a customer who uses a non wired electrical plug in telephone line extender which works perfectly from old machines with a max modem speed of 14400 but as soon as you go over this speed a com error occurs every time.
I suspect it is just a soft switch setting but as we do not have the fax manual we are struggling & we have got 3 potential sales riding on being able to do this.
    Thanks in anticipation

You can change the transmission speed using the communication bit switches in service mode to a minimum of 2400bps

Go to Fax SP 1-105, switch 03, and turn bit 2 off (0). This will step it down to 14.4.

In case nobody wanted to download the attachment above.

Thanks for all your replies but unfotunately it DNH (Did not help)
We assumed, that because our other test machine, an old Brother 1020 was both sending and receiving to/from a Brother 8360P that the problem was speed related and that slowing down the Ricoh would solve the problem.
But no, the Ricoh will receive but not send when the line extender is used, regardless of which machine is connected to the line extender. We have also tried using both Brother machines on one end with the Ricoh at the other and still no joy even after slowing down the modems. When both machines are plugged directly into phone lines it works no problem.
Does anyone know of any compatability issues or if there are some other settings we can play with in an attempt to get this to work in conjunction with the non wired line extension ?
