    mp 6001 scan issue

Customer has a mp 7500, mp 8000 and mp 6001. I have an issue with a mp 6001. Customer has to scan an envelops on a regular basis. On the mp 7500 and mp 8000 the customer sets the envelop on the glass and it scans to a folder. On the mp 6001 they cannot. Machine cannot detect paper size. Scan settings are set to auto detect paper size on all. Any ideas.

    thanks

    Two questions:

What size envelopes are they scanning? Are they a standard size and are all the envelopes the same size?

Do the other two machines recognise the correct size or does the scan default to a regular standard size (like A4 say if you are in Europe)

First thing I'd do is clean the optics including the original size sensors on the problem machine, also I'd check the operation of the sensors in input mode (I seem to remember a table in the manual giving sensor outputs for a given original size)

      Depends on the envelope size.
You can place a piece of A4 over the enevelope on the platen glass and the scanner will detect A4 size.

      Otherwise you can :
scanner button |scan settings | Scan size |select paper size you want.

You can also program and save a custom scan size in the scanner if desired.

If you press the green button again you can bypass the detection and scan at the default size (usually set to A4 or other popular equivalent).

I've had this problem on several machines, even if you select the required paper tray it won't print. You need to do an NVRAM clear (engine), don't forget to print out the non-default data first, don't back up data to SD card as you will be putting corrupt data back on and the fault will still be there
