MP5500 - Toner Spilled inside machine

Hello All, I have a RICOH AFICIO MP5500 that spilling toner at every 31K copies/print.

So far, I have replaced new drum, cleaning blade, cleaning brush (only at 31,000) and developer (@45,000). But I have to replace charge corona at 35K exactly due to tons of toner spilled on the grid. Also, I noticed toners were covering the laser shield glass also.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    SMC REPORT showed:

    DEV bias = 538.
    VREF SP2220-1 = 337 , VT Display = 347.

Does cooler facing transfer belt and drum unit rotate, what's condition of drum unit grounding, have you cleaned transfer belt, are the pathways to waste toner bottle open and clear, waste toner bottle full sensor condition?
Your pictures a bit smudged...I'm guessing it's developing assembly and it's slot in machine, yet it's too smugded.
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?

I've had similar on a couple of occasions where the dev filter is missing, ensure the filter is there and in good condition. As the toner appears to be going above the dev unit, this would be my guess

No OEM toner. I asked to see the bottle and the customer showed it was genuine toner bottle.

X2 on this. Also make sure that the front and rear drum seal are in good shape.

You guys are fast in responding to my problem. Deb, I did check there is a filter on the dev unit and drum ground is good.

Let me explained prior to this issue. The first issue is the machine threw SC300, I replaced the charge power pack, problem is solved. Then it had SC220 so i replaced the LD board and polygon mirror motor and fixed it. After the parts replacement toner spill start to happen.

Current Meter on the machine is 2 millions.

              Thanks again guys.

Yep!! After seeing that the machine has 2 million copies on i would also suggest that you check the fan. Also make sure that all the drum seals are replaced and that your developer unit is in a good shape! After so many copies your doctor blade could also be wearing out.

The absolute solution would be to replace the drum unit as well as your dev unit but make sure that your fan is working as well!

                Good luck!

This leak is from the classification unit on the toner hopper part number (B2473161)

But at 2 million copies, I can also bet you your dev unit is cactus also

Replace dev unit, new bag of dev, clean and vac toner hopper and replace classification unit, should be all sweet....

yea i've already told the customer multiple times about upgrading to a new one but their answer is always "We don't have the budget to buy a new one". I hope i can put this machine out of its misery and see if they have the budget to buy a new one.

2M-is that all ,I've got 3 all on 9.5 m,none of them has a fuser or pcu-I think one is still on the same dev unit & only 1 feed station change between them all!! It's how you look after them

Oooops my bad I misread it as a MP5000 well usually they do last forever I have a few on 5m but in this case then probably just need to replace the dev unit assembly as its probably started to leak dev everywhere
