Ricoh 3035 (adonis) jamming in adf

I have a mc which jams in adf (jam code 3,4,53) and also freezes mid scan when sending email.

In test mode it jams al the time, it seems to exit the first sheet and jam on the second.

I have checked the large white gear (ok) cleaned sensors (some were dusty) and reformatted hdd.

Now the df seems to run ok but still jams in test mode??

Does anyone have any ideas what to look for? im stumped
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

I've had stupid faults like this caused by the feed clutch, it sticks a bit at random times. Wouldn't hurt to reload the firmware too.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Reformatted the HDD???????? To solve a document jam?

Replace the feed clutch like Tonermunkeh says.

I reformatted the hdd as the machine froze when it was scanning (after reformatting its not freezing)

Looks like two different issues, but i will try a clutch if i get a recall, thanks for the prompt response.

best thing to do is replace a new DF unit.. It will definitely fix your Df jam.

Add to this, if your machine freezes again then replace the machine too lol

The feed belt goes around the 2 hubs. The hub on the shaft has a 1 way bearing in it. Where that bearing rides, the shaft will get smooth as glass. Buff the shaft where that bearing rides. If it gets slick, causes the 1 way not to grab and slip which throws off the timing and can cause all of the above jam codes.

I haven't touch this DF for several years already. However, let me share some of the technique i use to troubleshoot if a clutch is slipping, enable the df free run (sp6009) in SP mode and apply some pressure on the drive shaft where the clutch spin. If it stops easily, then replace the clutch.

In addition, inspect the tension belt on the DF drive chain gear in the front. I believe you can adjust it with just one screw (operator side and rear cover of the DF). If the belt is too tight it can cause this screechy noise.

just clean the adf feed rollers and belts with Q20 OR ANY OTHER LUBRICANT THAT ISNT SILICON BASED
