    SC 552
    Related SC code: SC 542
    1. Check if the heating roller thermistor is firmly connected.
    2. Replace the IH inverter.

If it is a warm-up issue try swapping out the fuser with another, if the problems are fixed at least you know it is the fuser and not a board issue. If it is the fuser replace the thermistor, and check the overall quality of the fuser.

Btw: this is all basic stuff that you should be doing anyway.

SC552 will immediately show on the display. It's a Fusing Unit error so this SC is always visible on the screen. I think you have a firmware issue here. Reload/Update the firmware.

Check to see if you have several area 17 (registration) jams and if it has an SR790 finisher fitted, if so, you need to replace the firmware EPROM in the finisher with the latest firmware. This only happens on MP5000 and MPC5000 with an SR790 finisher

sc552 : thurmisotor, p roller and Bearings cause this along with . Rearly : the bracket on IH inverter or Defective IH inverter damaged

Paper stuck ( mch stool ) at registration: Eprom in Finisher not up to date

Hanging ( flashing print job when printing put nothing happening ) = HDD plus firmware.

              thats it

              Good luck

It's fairly common, if you happen to see the fault occur it will stall on processing for about 2 minutes, pressing stop (or anything else doesn't help), it will then show a paper jam, you'll probably find 2 blank sheets of paper in the duplex area, and the machine will log a registration (area 17) jam. Usually you need to POPO to clear it, then the machine will run normally for a while. I've only seen the fault happen twice, but lots of these devices show high registration jams. It doesn't happen on MP4000 or MPC4000, only on the 5000's

No, as far as I'm aware, it only happens on those 2 models (MP5000 and MPC5000), and only when an SR790 finisher is fitted, I've only ever seen it personally on MPC5000's
