PLEASE, PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME RE:Richo CL7100 colour alignment problem

PLEASE, PLEASE, CAN YOU HELP ME?
I am at a loss as to what has happened to my Richo Cl7100 laser printer.
It is meticulously maintained and cleaned and all parts replaced correctly as requested by the machine.
Just recently, after replacing the magenta and cyan toners (all of which are reported to be genuine richoh toners for this model) a problem arose.
I printed a usual document from my pc and all the colours are misaligned - the Magenta being particlarly out of alignment.
The printer will not allow me to do a manual colour alignment or colour registration - message is 'FAILED'
    What to do now?

More than likely, your transfer belt, ID sensors, or the reflective rollers underneath the belt have gotten dirty or contaminated. Unless you're familiar with servicing this model (or the copier equivalent AF 2232c) you're best leaving this to a professional.

As an end user, you could try the following:

    1. Clean the lenses for each colour to make sure the machine isn't getting a poor view of each colour. Take the long stick that looks like a toothbrush and place it in the holes near each Photoconductor unit (the jam picture on the inside cover should show you where the holes are) and move it in and out several times to clean.

    2. Take out the fuser and with the front cover open, move the little handle that's visible from the front of the machine in the top left corner. The handle moves back and forth and will clean the ID sensors.

    3. Make sure that the photoconductor and developer units are within their life time, or relatively new if they don't get used that often.

outside of those areas, anything left is best left to a trained technician.

          Hi,
When you say take out the fuser - do you mean the the whole fuser unit at the side of the machine and is the little handle in the front top left, the green handle?

When you go to your Dr. do you bargain with him too or just pay his bill without question?

The handle I was talking about you'll actually need to remove the black photoconductor unit to see (be sure to cover the unit up to keep it from being exposed to light after removing it. If you look in the slot it was in, to the left will be a little handle that moves back and forth, that's for the ID sensors.

Overall, 85 quid is a good price for a diagnostic visit. Even with labour it may get a little pricey, but with the kind of delicate adjustment this kind of issue can take depending on the end issue it may well be worth it.

                    Sorry to be a pain.

I took the black pcu out and looked inside the slot but could not see any handle.
Should I take out the black drum beneath it also - is the slot there?
