    Lanier LD345c Ricoh 3245c

A customer call and want 2 years service agreement, I don't know his copier (but worked on this model in the past), this machine has copy count of 200k black and 160k color, was on maintenance contract up to now.
What should a 1 year base + per copy should be? This machine will be only a backup, as they bought a new color copier.
    Thanks.

You are like that CLASSIC - ... to be or not to be...
How can you ask such questions - it all depends. So many factors could influence price etc. Even your personal preferences and how "connected" you are to this customer could lead to increase or deduction. It should be your personal decision based on your particular situation (competitors, volume per month, ratio BW/Color etc.) Open your mind and make your executive decision.

That model is getting old, kind of risky locking in for 2 years

Fortunately, I only have 1 of these left in the field. I say fortunate because you have to carry parts inventory to support any machine. The Fuser Unit on this machine has a PM life set at 120K (I am not sure it can make it that far) and the unit to replace is expensive. The parts are available to rebuild the Fuser but I find them time consuming and finicky. I think the AF2228C is a better choice. You can use the AF2228C PCU in the AF3245C (with slight modification to the lower left case front), and the PCU's were significantly less money at one point in time.

DON'T DO IT, I spent a small fortune on one of those recently, 4 x PCU's 4 x Dev units, ITB Belt and cleaning unit and took 8hrs in total to fix due to line adjustment being out. It was just about the same volume as the one your thinking about taking on.

Thanks you all, I inform the customer that I'll service this copier only on per visit payment, and will not propose a contract.

it's all depend on how much they use the machine per Sakura. I have 2 machines like this in my territory and they are running pretty at low cost for maintenance. I cleaned pcu charge rollers when there is CQ issue and those drums are lasting me around 200k. the only thing is when they reach 550K or more, the toner supply pump clutch tend to go bad.
