The tech has replaced some more parts and it has reduced the problem back to a "semi acceptable" copy but it is still there. I am pretty sure all firmware/patches etc are loaded but will check with the technician. I will also let him know your thoughts on the optics and stopping a copy midprint. Thanks for those ideas. Regarding a solid colour C/M/Y/K print. I have done all of them and it doesn't show so I did a "blue" solid colour (using the single colour option on the copier control panel) and have attached it here. (portion of the A4 page copied by lifting the lid in Blue single colour mode)

Daz, I showed the tech that paper (thanks for that) but it is a different issue than what is described.

I promise I'll get back to you all as soon as I get any more info!

Did you say that this is being printed on paper that is 160g/m2? If so the machine is only rated to print on this type of paper out of the bypass and ONLY if the bypass is set to thick 2 under the user tools. If not this example could happen all the time.

Hello, yes it is on 160gsm from the Bypass tray, set to Thick 1 (up to 157gsm). Wouldn't have thought 3gsm would make the difference but tried a test on Thick 2 setting and exactly the same output...

The only way I have been able to "cure" this fault is to replace the developer unit and developer complete (cyan).
The problem is the toner concentrate is out and just increasing it doesnt seem to work.
It normally happens on machines that copy/print very large solid areas of blue like PowerPoint presentations.
