Hi all. I have a E-Studio 905 Toshiba (Ricoh Box don't know Ricoh equivalent) that int leaves a grey band about 5 inches wide on back of copies every 15 sheets or so. The dev has only 150K on it and the drum about the same. I cleaned the drum area and coronas of excess toner as I was getting SC 300 errors as well as SC 586 at the same time as the SC300 (copy count same). Any ideas? The Toshiba forum guys did not have any ideas, so comon' Ricoh techs...Lets see what yer made of!

Re: ES905 Ricoh box black bands rear side of copies
looks to be the equivalant to a ricoh mp9001 (with the exception of the op panel) if that helps anyone out. im guessing a hv problem based on the sc300, but havent personaly seen this problem -
Re: ES905 Ricoh box black bands rear side of copies
Yes, I hought it was because of moderate toner dusting around charge corona and drum assy, but after cleaning all up, still did it occasionally. I had another 905 yesterday that had severe toner dusting (overdue for dev change) that was doing same thing, but cleared up after I cleaned everything up. I am wondering if I missed something in the charge area, and it is finding a path to ground?Comment

Re: ES905 Ricoh box black bands rear side of copies
In regards to your issues, here's how you go about fixing them 1 by 1, Firstly the SC300 is related to the charge unit. I would firstly replace both charge and pre charge units. If the issue still is there, you more than likely have a charge power pack issue and should be changing that. Secondly with the black lines on the rear of the page, that will be your transfer unit, as mentioned above replace belt and blade along with cleaning all rollers under transfer belt. Make sure earth on bias roller is making a good connection as well. Your last issue is SC586, that error is the CIS unit in the Large capacity tray is dirty, disconnect LCT, where the exit is for the paper there is a CIS unit to the front of the unit, remove and clean with water. Also clean guide as well so the CIS does not get a false reading of it.Comment

Re: ES905 Ricoh box black bands rear side of copies
I received the new transfer belt and blade, put them on, and the image is compressed with varying lengths of compression. I put the original belt back on and was good again. Now customer called and said image is compressed on a few copies out of 100's. Any ideas?Comment

Re: ES905 Ricoh box black bands rear side of copies
Compressed images sounds like there is something loading the PCU or or transfer belt drive. Is this machine using factory toner? I ran into something similar back in the day when we tried some non official crap toner in the 35/45 cpm machines, the transfer belt would bind up right after replacing the transfer belt cleaning blade.Comment
